What is the sun?
A distant smile that fades away
But springs a fairy dream enough to make the night a day
A vestige of delight engraved on golden sand
That lasts until eternal waves in turns will roam
Their shiny brand of pastless foam
Dissolving line of verse on lips once strong
To word the finest tone on every wordless stone
Once blessed by Heaven"s eyes birds never die
Once touched by eagle"s hand men always fly
Do angels" wings go grey when ages pass
And people stop to prey?

The pain will always find a sunset friend,
All faces die but one will stay.
